Painting Without a Name

Now that sounds mysterious, doesn’t it? Hi, how’s everyone doing? Learning new things, and adulting right? I’m sure by now you’ve noticed that winter is my slow period. I’m not sure if it’s like this for anyone else but creativity doesn’t happen as easily this time of year. Don’t get me wrong there are days when all I want to do is paint but there are more days where I’d rather be chilling, and reading or becoming a couch potato.

Respecting that this is generally my slow creativity period I’ve taken the time to learn about entrepreneurship. Figuring out business, marketing issues and dropping what isn’t working for me like (Instagram Reels)! Loads of fun putting so much effort into reels for 2 people to see them. I was on hiatus from Instagram, well aside from watching the occasional funny video.

During my break, I heard about Instagram Threads. I tried to gather the energy to learn how it works, it took me a minute but this weekend, I finally posted on there. Hopefully some of you can follow me because sometimes posting to social media is a lot like talking to yourself. For now, I’m still on Pinterest, YouTube and TikTok. They are my main platforms.

This is the new artwork I’m stumped on. What should I call this one? Can you help me think of a title for this 12×9 inch painting?

I used paint brushes, pallet knives, and acrylic paint on canvas. Oh I also used painters tape to block off the diamond shapes. To create this artwork I painted the canvas black waited for it to dry and then taped the sections I wanted to stay black. After I was sure the painters tape was stuck on (I’ve been fooled before) I used 3 shades of green to make dots all over the canvas. When I felt there were enough varying green dots I used the pallet knife to spread and mix the various shades of green. Because it doesn’t have a name, this one isn’t for sale yet.

Anywho, it’s been an exciting first few months of the year. There’s one more new artwork here. I’m excited to see the titles you come up with.

Great painting! “Ice Cave” was the first thing that came to mind.

Thanks for the suggestion. It’s pretty tough giving artwork a title. I will consider “ice cave” too. Thanks for reading and commenting.
