I figured it's important that I explain why I chose the Palm tree instead of the Pine tree. Both are beautiful and similar in one way. They both bend with the storms that pass, but still stand. This blog is just that. "Its me, still standing!" I now a make a pledge to very often find things to write about and always put an interesting spin on how I write about them. Hint hint...there will always be humour attached. This blog will be for those who like to read and see the fun and adventure in life. Not keen on talking about it. So I will write about it! Let's go!
“Generally, by the time you are Real, most of your hair has been loved off, and your eyes drop out and you get loose in the joints and very shabby. But these things don’t matter at all, because once you are Real you can’t be ugly, except to people who don’t understand.”
I Went to a drive-in movie for the first time last night. What an experience! At first, I didn’t want to see Christopher Robin. But it ended up really speaking to me. The part that I can’t get out of my mind was when Winnie the Pooh asked Christopher Robin, “What day is it today?” and Christopher Robin responded… “It’s today.” And Pooh replied “my favorite day!” Continue reading “Happy Today!”
We watched Sesame Street, Harriet’s Magic Hats, and Mister Rogers Neighborhood together. Then in the afternoon, it was the Flintstones, Inspector Gadget and then Thundercats. Eventually, I started going to school for the full day. Continue reading “Happy Father’s Day”
To all the mothers that read my blog thank you for reading. On behalf of your families, thank you all for everything that you do that your family may not even realize. Please remember to always take some time out for yourself as well.
Enjoy YOUR day.
Oh, and one more thing…don’t forget that you can always hide from them if things get out of hand today.
Psst hey, have you heard of mindful eating or intuitive eating and drinking? It’s all over the internet and in every magazine. We all tend to eat while doing many different things:
Playing on our phones,
Lately, I do it too. I shove food into my mouth and gulp drinks without tasting or truly enjoying the flavours or the textures. Mindful eating is about paying attention to the food or drink that we have chosen to partake in. You know, fully taking the time to enjoy every bite or sip. Like we all used to when we were kids. I haven’t been blogging much lately which has led me to question, why I started blogging in the first place. Hmmmmm.
To prove to myself that I can write. Of course, it was scary at first because what isn’t?
Simply, to write and develop my writing style.
To re-experience memories that I had hidden even from myself.
Oh, I also started blogging to laugh at myself and share some of my life experiences.
The main reasons why I started blogging was because, I am that person right beside you at school, work, on the subway or even at a random store not needing to say much but quietly waiting to interject with some outlandish view often different from what everyone else’s.
Have you heard of radical acceptance? I’ve been trying it out for a while now. What a great concept. Basically, it’s accepting the things that you have no control over without resistance. By resistance I mean, for example, going to the store and your favorite hash browns are not in stock for weeks at a time. You can:
Warning: This blog may or may not be suitable for all people who follow advice word for word. Women, men, children, pets and all individuals that are sensitive to the needs of their neighbours please continue reading. Continue reading “Moving Day Tips and Tricks!”
It’s a sunny Wednesday. I’m in the middle of the big city. Out for a day of exploring. While I look around and take everything in, literally everyone is busy looking at their phones. So what, I’m out here alone? I literally feel like I am out here alone…yet I’m around so many people. I can’t stand this!
What a waste of an outfit, a day, a smile. What happened to paying attention to what’s going on around you?
What happened to being in the… Oh sorry I have to take this!……….
This kid I once knew was frightened of most natural things. He wasn’t that kid that would play in the mud, find insects in the bushes and pluck their wings and legs when no one was looking. He loved going outside but preferred to play sports with friends or ride his bike. Continue reading “The Boulder Decision!”
If you never know, you’ll never be hurt. If you never try, you’ll never fail. If you never start, you’ll never be late. If you never love, you’ll never lose.
Life could be that simple. It wouldn’t include getting hurt, but it wouldn’t include happiness either. You’ll never know what happiness is if you haven’t ever been sad. That’s why we look at things differently, we do things differently and make life complicated. This complication might hurt us, but it’s something that makes life worth living. We allow life to meddle. So we believe in things in a different way:
If you never know, you’ll never see. If you never try, you’ll never win. If you never start, you’ll never finish. If you never love, you’ll never live.
There are certain people in my life that I know if something happens and they start laughing it’s impossible for me not to laugh. Even without knowing why they are laughing, I start to laugh. Their laughter is contagious, infectious, transmittable. Continue reading “Contagious Laughter!”
I love music. Music makes time travel possible! My favorite radio stations are the ones that play songs from the 80’s. They take me back in time and sometimes it’s difficult to back to the present. The memories are just too funny or in some instances too painful! Continue reading “Time Travel”
Ok, so I’m not as fit as the young lady above but, I am trying to walk more. I used to walk so fast that I put myself in the category of nearly speed walking which sometimes turned into speed tripping. Continue reading “Watch Me!”
