Apple Sketch

You are the sum total of everything you’ve ever seen, heard, eaten, smelled, been told, forgot – it’s all there. Everything influences each of us, and because of that I try to make sure that my experiences are positive.

It’s funny how artistic inspiration can come from buying new art tools.

I bought a new tool for my artwork! It’s a Derwent Academy Paper Stump. For those of you who don’t know, these stumps are made for smudging and that’s just what they’ll do! Some of you will get the reference but the rest of you will never know. It has to do with boots. Anyway, In most of my previous video’s I was smudging the pencil with my fingers, tissue or Q-tips. What made me switch to these was the fact that they are way easier to smudge with. They make it easier to get into the tight spots of my drawings.

When you watch the video you will notice that at first I forgot that I even had them or was just hesitant to use them.

You know how it is when you try something new. Now that I’ve started using them I can’t go back. I wasn’t sure what to draw to test them out and decided to draw an apple. By the way, drawing an apple is an excellent way to practice creating 3D objects. It’s tricky but the more practice you get, the better you’ll get at it.

You should try it too. Face every challenge with positivity! Go ahead and check out my latest YouTube video!

I figured it's important that I explain why I chose the Palm tree instead of the Pine tree. Both are beautiful and similar in one way. They both bend with the storms that pass, but still stand. This blog is just that. "Its me, still standing!" I now a make a pledge to very often find things to write about and always put an interesting spin on how I write about them. Hint hint...there will always be humour attached. This blog will be for those who like to read and see the fun and adventure in life. Not keen on talking about it. So I will write about it! Let's go!
