The Story Behind That Photo

Untitled design-2

Fact: Dr. Seuss’s real name was Theodore Seuss Geisel? I posted that quote a while back and it still resonates with me because my mom loves to take photos. When people think of albums full of photos they have no idea what that really looks like. My parents have always had friends and family all over the world so I’m positive there are pictures of us in countries we have never been.

The moments in time that mom was able to capture are priceless. Flipping through albums brings back memories of the circumstances behind each image. Laughter often ensues or silence. There are even pictures of people who most likely have no idea of the role they played in our lives. They were uncles, aunts, friends, colleagues, neighbours, or people that were in your life for a brief moment that was captured in a photograph.

Nowadays, photos are usually taken with cell phones and then forgotten up in the Cloud. This is where they live until we decide to look at them again on our computers. I don’t know about you but, I’m guilty of doing this. I haven’t printed a photo since, a really long time ago. As great as it is to have a Cloud of photos it’s even better to rifle through albums of familiar faces.

My point is, capture those memories and bring them down from the cloud. Take photos of the people that are important to you and even those people that are only in your life for that one picture. Those photos serve a purpose, they remind you of what brought you all together.

Have a great week!

  1. A picture is worth a thousand words as the saying goes. Sometimes during my me time I leaf through some of the numerous albums and spend time with many of the people in the pictures! Every picture tells a story which includes the what, when, who, where, why and how. Looking at pictures evokes countless life memories, some happy some sad but that’s life. So go ahead, look at the pictures around you and see what happens
