Spring is here, the snow has finally melted. Every schoolyard is littered with soiled mittens and scarves. What a great time of year! There is a general feeling that something good is coming up. The delicious salads, barbecues, taking long walks. There are so many things to do. We do some of these things year round but everything is so much better when the sun is shining and it’s not cold outside. This winter has dragged on for so long I honestly miss mosquitoes!
Every time I took my vacation last year I caught a cold or had a sinus infection, allergies…blah blah blah. I’m not even exaggerating, this year has to be different! I want to take at least 1 week of my vacation time during the summer but since a staycation is all that I can afford, creativity will be brought to the forefront.
Here are a few things I would like to do during my staycation this year.
- I Plan to Rest
- Go to a drive-in movie
- Find a new favourite video game (preferably an adventure one)
- Read a great book
- Road trip to see the sites around me that I haven’t seen or noticed before
- Change up my phone playlists. (need some new fave’s)
- Write, paint, draw maybe dabble in a small fancy project
- Try some new recipes
- Garden a little. I need to plant more perennials. I can’t deny there’s something great about pulling weeds and having neat flower beds that spring up year after year
- And Relax
The problem is it’s so easy to end up working around the house instead of relaxing. Or getting caught up doing things other people want you to do. So I will try to carve out a little bit of time to do those things and then the rest of the time will be ME, time! The true plan for my staycation is bolded
If I catch a whiff of my plan not going as planned I have a plan B.
My Plan B has only one thing on it but it will become plan A real quick if I sense that things aren’t going as planned.
Here’s the secret that this whole blog post was eluding to all along. The right way to truly staycation is…
- Just hide rest and relax
Well, that’s my plan for my staycation, what’s yours?
